In simpler terms, BHB appeared to change gene and enzyme activity in ways that helped preserve glutamate for GABA synthesis and increase the brain’s inhibitory tone.

Again, this does not mean every person doing keto is guaranteed to become calm, happy, and stress-proof. Human mood and stress are much more complicated than one neurotransmitter. But it does support a broader idea: ketosis may help create a brain environment that is less electrically and chemically overexcited.

Weight loss is motivating at first because it gives quick feedback. You change your food, your body changes, and you feel rewarded.
But once you reach your goal weight, the scale no longer gives the same emotional payoff. You are not chasing a lower number anymore. You are trying to maintain a better life.
